I was given a broken necklace and pendant to take out the center diamond and prepare a new piece of jewelry with the center stone as it was a gift from her grandmother. I couldn’t under whether the halo’s were set with diamonds because of the layers of grease on them. The necklace wasn’t cleaned in decades. After a few days in cleaning solutions and hours of ultrasonic it became clear the small stones were diamonds. So I recommended to repair and renew the necklace which was a memory of her grandmother and looked vintage instead of making a new and expensive piece of jewelry.
